7 YEARS EXPERIENCE MINIMUM
Interpret drawings, perform CNC programming, set-up and perform CNC and conventional machining of a variety of materials including ferrous and nonferrous metals, plastics, wood, ceramics and/or any other machinable material on a variety of CNC and conventional machine tools including lathes, vertical mills and horizontal boring mills in a multi-shift custom manufacturing job shop environment.
Effectively and efficiently interpret drawings to determine dimensional criteria, tolerances, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), sequence of operations, set-ups, fixturing, tooling, speeds and feeds to accurately and productively perform manual machining and 2 ½-axis to 5-axis CNC machining of custom parts from a variety of materials (4-axis & 5-axis experience desirable but not required).
Set-up, operate, and maintain all tools, equipment and materials befitting a professional and to the requirements of the customer and the company.
Utilize CAD/CAM, and manual programming, as appropriate, to efficiently and effectively develop and edit 2 ½-axis to 5-axis CNC programs for competitively machining parts, including machining of molds and complex surfaces and shapes, from a variety of materials on multiple CNC machine tools across multiple shifts according to specified requirements (4-axis & 5-axis experience desirable but not required).
Utilize CAD/CAM to efficiently and effectively import, export, interpret, and analyze specifications consisting of drawings, sketches, electronic models, or electronic design data and geometry in a multiple shift 2 ½-axis to 5-axis prototype to short run machining environment (4-axis & 5-axis experience desirable but not required).
Work within a procedural system to manage and utilize multiple CNC programs for multiple CNC machine tools including storage, retrieval, editing and DNC.
Communicate extensively with affected workers on other shifts via written notes/instructions and/or telephone to convey detailed information accurately to enhance the continuity of the manufacturing operations and assure conformance to requirements and company objectives.
Develop and create, or as a minimum, possess an understanding and knowledge of post processors and effectively fine-tune them for seamless communication from CAM to varying machine tool controls to establish ultimate machine tool and cutting tool performance.
Effectively, efficiently and accurately understand quality assurance requirements and their impact on machining processes and the parts being produced.
Assure conformance of tasks, processes and product to customer and/or company specifications and requirements by properly utilizing measuring instruments, measuring tools, gages and/or by any means as deemed necessary for verifying conformance as defined by the requirements.
